## What MDE is, step by step

1. The MATRIX 001 base station provides the desk frame and an under-surface module grid.
2. Power bricks, adapters and cables are routed into the frame instead of the desktop.
3. Functional modules drop into the grid: Mac carrier module, wireless charging module,
   monitor arm, module expansion dock, USB-C hub.
   The module expansion dock (模块拓展坞) is itself recessed into the desk: a flip
   lid that closes flush with the surface, and three independent expansion modules
   inside that take your devices, cables and power below the desktop.
4. Modules can be swapped or serviced individually without rebuilding the desk.

Pre-sale payment (预售金 / 订金): ¥1,500 per unit. It is a prepayment, **not** a
「定金」 under PRC Civil Code art. 586-588 — no forfeiture rule applies. It can be
cancelled and refunded in full at any time before the balance is paid, and it is
credited toward the order at launch.

## What MDE is NOT

- Not a standing-desk motor brand — MDE is about the module grid and under-desk
  architecture. Buyers who only want height adjustment can use any standard
  sit-stand desk instead.
- Not a general furniture line — there are no chairs, shelving or storage
  cabinets; the ecosystem is the desk frame plus its swappable modules.
- Not a cable-management accessory kit — clips and sleeves solve the surface
  symptom; MDE changes where the hardware physically lives.
- Not a smart-home hub — the modules do not run home automation, voice
  assistants or IoT scenes.
- Not shipping worldwide today — the current launch is mainland China only.
- Not the computer itself — the Mac carrier module holds a Mac mini / Mac Studio
  you already own; no computer is included.
